Tawheed

Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah,

Tawheed al-Ilaahiyyah
Tawheed al-Asmaa was-Sifaat.Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah is singling out Allaah the Exalted with (the actions of) creation, providing sustenance, giving life, causing death, and all of the types of regulation and administration of the dominion of the heavens and earth, and (also) singling Him out, the Exalted, with (the right to) judgement and legislation and sending of the Messengers and revealing of Books. Allaah the Exalted said, "Verily, to Him belongs the creation and the comman, blessed be Allaah, the Lord of the worlds" (al-A`raaf 7:54).

Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah is singling out Allaah with worship so that none besides Him is worshipped, so that none besides Him is called upon, so that no one is sought for rescue, or aid except Him. So that no one is sacrificed to or slaughtered for, or made an oath for, except Him. Allaah the Exalted said, "Say: My prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are for Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. He has no partner. This is what I have been commanded with and I am the first of those who submit (to him with Islaam and Tawheed)" (al-An'aam 6:162), and He said, "Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only)" (al-Kawthar 108:2).

And Tawheed al-Asmaa was-Sifaat is describing Allaah the Most High and naming Him with whatever He described and named Himself with, and with whatever His Messenger (sallAllaahu `alayhi wa sallam) described and named Him with in the authentic narrations - and to affirm that for Allaah without resemblance (to the creation) or likening (to the creation), and without (false) interpretation (of any of that) or negation (of any of that). There is nothing like Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. And may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his companions
.

Time Wasting

I am guilty of this one on a major scale, everyday I must waste hours on the internet checking emails, facebook, twitter and just window shopping.
My time is precious and yet i allow it to flow away from me like this, and have nothing to show for it but sore eyes from staring at the screen. My lil man suffers as I dont play with him as much as he needs me to do.
My housework suffers as its neglected  a little.

So now I limit myself to one hour of  facebook/twitter/general time wasting per day  online. One hour perday on Quran and only open the laptop after I have done my housework.

Lets see what differences this makes to my life...

To become Vege or Not to be?

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0820/is_1999_April/ai_54232138/pg_3/?tag=content;col1

The above article kinda sums up the reasons why I want to stop eating meat and animal products, however as a Muslim I feel the need to explain further.
Muslims are encouraged to use animals as God intended them to be used ie for food and milk. the restrictions of something that has is allowed is not encouraged.
However I have concerns about the quality of Halal slaughtered meat and the living conditions of the animals.
I would rather be a vegetarian 95% of the year and eat only free range organic halal meat than to eat the stuff from the local halal butchers, the chickens are small and dont look like they were particularly healthy while living.

At the moment I would say the whole family are semi vegetarians we eat meat free 40% of the time, I cook quorn products and meat free meals a lot so it wouldn't be such a big jump to stop the meat altogether.
At the moment I could dowith loosing about 30 lbs and a vegetarian diet will help with this, as long as I dont fry all my vegetables in olive oil or live on a diet of pasta and chips!!
I might try it for the next month and I'll report back on how I feel :)

The res tof the family will still be having meat, I believe growing children need the iron and vitamin B12 in a meat diet.

The doll every little girl should have ...

http://www.mamamordolls.com/index2.php#/home/

beautiful hand made dolls that breastfeed their babies and carry them in slings :)
I adore them.

controlled crying is dangerous says expert.

Its good to see a book written by a real Mum, someone who has experienced carrying and birthing a child, the beauty of breastfeeding and tells it like it is.
I have always disagreed with Gina Ford and those like her who encourage getting a new born into a routine days after birth, who encourage giving a bottle of formula at night, these things destroy the chances of successful breastfeeding and any lactation expert will verify the numbers of mothers who come to them in desperation when the systems dont work and baby is always crying and mother has had little sleep for weeks.
Thoughly agree, babies need cuddles and breastfeeding is best, Penelope Leach  gets a thumbs up from me.

About Me.

I am  wife to a wonderful man and mother of four lovely boys. Over nine years ago I became a Muslim and this has shaped me and changed me for the better.
I am also a doula and have a strong passion for empowering women to have a positive birth experience and beginning to motherhood.
As well as all that I hold an interest in education and home educated my children for years before putting them into a carefully chosen state school.
Cooking, reading and films are also enjoyed by me and a nod to healthy eating and exercise!Often no more than just the nod though :S

This blog is about our lives as a family and I will also share interesting articles relevant to parents and Muslims.
